Health Policy is the health related decision, plans, actions taken by the government to achieve specific health-related goals and outcomes in the society. Health policies thus require implementation at various levels such as local and national levels in a country. International organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) are responsible to set up global health policies across the globe that can be systematically implemented at national levels.

Many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) also contribute in the implementation activities of already-drawn health policies. Health policies are drawn to achieve specific goals such as the prevention of particular illnesses, health promotion, access to services, quality of care, budgetary allocation for health-related activities etc. 

Health policies need to be dynamic and must address the current health-related issues as well as prevention strategies for the future. Universal healthcare, health insurance, healthcare funding, public health, health workforce, health information systems, health technology evaluations, and health equity are some common areas of attention in health policy. 

These policies are critical in shaping healthcare systems, allocating resources, and improving the health and well-being of the population.
