✅ The United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) is a nonprofit organization that establishes requirements for the identification, strength, quality, and purity of drugs, dietary supplements, and other healthcare items produced and used in the country.

✅ A comprehensive collection of quality standards for drug substances, drug products, excipients, and compounded medicines can be found in the United States Pharmacopeia-National Formulary (USP-NF), which is published by the USP. These guidelines specify the requirements that must be met by pharmaceutical products in terms of composition, strength, purity, packaging, labelling, and testing.

✅ The USP standards are used as a benchmark by pharmaceutical manufacturers to make sure that their products fulfill the necessary quality and safety criteria. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes and upholds the USP standards.
